With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, after several years of restoration work, the Apolon Kutateladze Art Academy in Tbilisi has returned to its original appearance. The renovated Art Academy will receive students from the new academic year.
Contribution to the construction-rehabilitation works carried out at the Academy of Arts belongs to:
- 2004-2006 - Cartu Fund – GEL 1,020,819
- 2015-2020 - Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - 12 000 000 GEL
The building, which dates to two centuries ago, has been restored with its famous mirrored and exhibition halls, a large library, academy foundations and repositories. The main landmark of the building has been fully restored - the mirrored halls created by Iranian masters in its time, the courtyard has been paved and improved. At this stage, the works are being finalized, and the interior is being cleaned.
Rehabilitation construction works of the Central Training Building of the Academy located at 22 Griboedov Street, are also underway, which will be fully completed in 2021. The budget of the project amounts to GEL 4 912 000.
