Nunu Mitskevichi, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with Beka Peradze, Head of the Labor Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health, attended the Tbilisi State Medical University and the State Conservatory.
From October 19 onwards, practical-laboratory work will be carried out at higher education institutions in full compliance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and hygienic-sanitary norms, in the traditional format.
Nunu Mitskevichi: “Universities provide a safe educational environment. Responsibilities are shared by students, professors and the administration, and the sanitary norms and all the regulations developed by the Ministry of Health for university premises are strictly observed during the educational process.”
In order to prevent the further spread of the virus, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with the Ministry of Health, has developed safety recommendations, which include the need to wear personal protective equipment, the excessive use of thermal screening, and utilization of hand sanitizers on campus.
Prior to the start of the school year, the Department of Labor Inspection of the Ministry of Health inspected all higher education institutions and issued the relevant permit to conduct the educational process inside the auditoriums. The process of inspecting educational institutions will continue systematically throughout the country.
Due to the epidemic situation, according to the decision of the Interageny Coordination Council, the gradual return of students to universities began on October 19, 2020.
From October 19, 2020 onwards, higher education institutions operating in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Poti will conduct practical and laboratory trainings in a non-distance mode, strictly following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. Additionally, all universities are empowered to control other components of the learning process remotely.
Moreover, higher education institutions will provide students with additional information related to the practical and laboratory work schedule.
Higher education institutions operating on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara continue the educational process remotely.hWhereas, gigher education institutions in Gori, Telavi and Akhaltsikhe continue their education in the usual way.
