The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, hosted the head of the European Council's education department, Sara Keating.

During this meeting, Minister Amilakhvari outlined the current educational initiatives in Georgia and the planned steps for further developing the nation's education system. The discussion also centred on enhancing and expanding the existing collaboration between Georgia and the European Council in educational matters. 

A key topic of the conversation was the implementation of civic education in Georgian schools. Sara Keating, representing the European Council, recognized Georgia as a leading example in the teaching of civic education.

Additionally, the two parties reviewed the achievements of the collaborative project between Georgia and the Council of Europe titled "Democracy Starts at School." This successful initiative focuses on reinforcing school autonomy and actively engaging the school community in the decision-making process.
