The second round of the National Educational Olympiad is currently taking place across Georgia. Gela Geladze, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, visited the 55th Public School in Tbilisi to observe the Olympiad.
The National Educational Olympiad, tailored for students in grades X to XII, is being centrally conducted in various subjects, including Georgian language and literature, Georgian language for students from non-Georgian-speaking schools, mathematics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, and foreign languages.
The first round of the 2023-2024 academic year Olympiad was held electronically, attracting over 26,300 students. Out of them, more than 7,000 students qualified for the second round.
The second round began on January 8 and will conclude on January 12, with 68 examination centers established throughout Georgia.
To advance to the final round, a student must score a minimum of 50% on the relevant subject's test and be among the top fifty participants in the class and subject rankings.
The National Educational Olympiad adheres to the National Curriculum and is organized by the National Assessment and Examination Center. It consists of three rounds conducted each year. The primary objectives of the Olympiad are to stimulate the learning process, boost student motivation, and identify potential candidates to represent Georgia in international Olympiads.
