On October 11-13, The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in cooperation with the international organization GIZ, the National Center for Teachers Professional Development, the University of Magdeburg (Germany) and the Center for Vocational Education and Training UNEVOC, is holding a regional conference for the development of the vocational education in the region of South Caucasus.

Owing to the support of the listed organizations, the international leaders program “a master trainer in vocational education” will be conducted, which involves the vocational education specialists from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The participants of the program will be involved in the introduction of the dual vocational education in their countries, respectively.

Furthermore, Georgia is a leader in terms of the introduction of dual vocational education in the South Caucasus countries. The first idea of introducing the dual vocational education was presented by the Ministry of Education and Science, with the support of GIZ. Moreover, within the scope of the conference, German experts will share their experiences with their local counterparts. Additionally, 17 experts from these three countries have studied the German model of dual vocational education, as well as the international experience of dual vocational education in the European countries. Transfer projects will be developed, which will be support also by the GIZ. The transfer projects is related not only to the professional development of teachers and school faculty, but also the introduction of new evaluation forms and the implementation of dual programs in tourism and wine-making.

Georgia has a dual leadership role in professional education with the introduction of the South Caucasus countries. The first idea about the dual education by the Ministry of Education and Science of the International Organization for the support of GIZ. The scope of the conference will be to share experiences with German and local experts. Seventeen representatives of the three countries studied as the German dual vocational education policy, as well as international experience in professional education in European countries. The program has been developed for the transfer of projects which will be undertaken as well as the support of GIZ. Topics related to the transfer of projects, as the professional development of teachers and principals in schools, as well as the evaluation of new approaches and dual programs in tourism and wine-making.
