The students of the concluding year visited the College “Mermisi” for the open day, where they had the opportunity to inspect the college, receive the information regarding the vocational education and get personally involved in the program’s practical demonstration. The aim of the event was to display the vocational education through a different and interesting perspective, thus emphasizing the employment opportunities in real life.
The open day was held within the scope of the European week (5-9 December). The similar European week is being held simultaneously in other EU countries with the free trade agreement, as well as the candidate countries.
EU Technical Assistance to VET and Employment Reforms in Georgia (EUVEGE) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia are the main organizers of the open day event at college “Mermisi”. “We would like to show that the vocational education can be a fantastic option, which will guarantee the further employment to an individual” – stated the expert at EUVEGE, Michael Elendrider.
The project actively supports the popularization of the vocational education through implementing various activities in Georgia, in order to emphasize its positive aspects and opportunities. The EUVEGE project aims to support the social situation in Georgia and support to overcome the poverty.
