The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Innovations and Technology Agency has launched a two-day “hackathon”, in which the groups of students of vocational institutions take part for creation of prototypes of innovative and high-tech idea. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava opened the competition and wished success to the participants.
“Hackathon” is a competition for people interested in technologies and is the mean for realization of good ideas, self-expression, healthy competition and creation of innovative projects.
Hackathon, organized on April 1-2, includes two stages: students work on generation of the ideas (Creaton), the team with the best idea goes to the second round, where the prototype of the idea is created using the fablabs. The best group will be identified on April 23. Within the framewok of the program, the participating teams will present their educational institutions and try to get prizes and the monetary awards, provided by private companies.
After the official opening of “Hackathon”, the working process was launched, where the representatives of the Innovations and Technology Agency, mentors introduced the competition conditions to the vocational students, conducted the training and assisted in generation of the ideas. The teams moved to the second round will work on fulfillment of the idea during three weeks and will submit the prototype of the idea on April 23, at the final event, where the jury will announce the winning team.
