From 2013, one of the priorities for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and for the Government of Georgia, in general, is to reform the vocational education system for the purpose of its improvement and development. Within the framework of the reform, special importance is given to popularization of vocational education. Diversity, learning by doing, full state funding, modern infrastructure and equipment and the opportunity to get employed in a short period of time - are the main components that distinguish vocational education and make it interesting.
With the purpose of promotion of the vocational education, the Vocational Education Festival was organized by the Tbilisi City Hall and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, through funding of the Department of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs of the Tbilisi City Hall. Vocational educational institutions throughout Georgia and international organizations included in the system were represented at the festival.
Various activities, such as thematic competitions of vocational student, bartender show, modeling of digital images with the support of innovative 3D printer, as well as the professional orientation activities for examination of professions for the festival visitors were carried out at the event.
The event was opened by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava, the Chairperson of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Parliament of GeorgiaMariam Jashi and the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Nina Khatiskatsi.
