In 2017 Georgian universities participated in several international exhibitions and conferences with project “Study in Georgia.” The project is initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science and aims at popularizing educational hub and attracting foreign students.
Within the project state and private higher education institutions of Georgia inform foreign citizens concerned about educational projects in foreign languages and terms of studying in Georgia, like leading and popular universities of the world.
At the initial stage of the project Georgia was a discovery for many foreigners as a country at international education market. Nowadays the awareness about our country and its education system is considerably raised. Participation of Georgian universities in exhibitions shows that involvement in similar international educational events is the best way to attract foreign students and investment.
Within the project Georgian universities took part in five international exhibitions. With the participation in any successive conference Georgia enters a new educational market and more and more potential foreign students are interested in studying in Georgia. Their number increased by 50% compared with the previous year indicator. The number of agents interested in the cooperation with Georgian universities is also grown. Hence, Georgian universities cooperate with the leading world companies that unite such agents. The work is under way to simplify visa procedures for foreign students and to provide relevant environment for them in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
People of all nationalities and origin feel themselves protected in Georgia. Considering the fact that Georgia is one of 47 European countries involved in Bologna process, foreign students who graduate Georgian universities continue their career successfully in Europe.
