Today the
world celebrates the global day of information dissemination on Autism. Since
2010, April 2, Georgia also celebrates this unique day. For this special day,

a special program together with their peers. The Deputy Minister of Education

Since 2013, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia implements a
special program, under which, Georgian public schools, in case of necessity,
open specially integrated classes, where students with autistic spectrum
violation have the capability to receive quality education. One such class is
currently functioning at Tbilisi Public school №72.
The aim
of the program is to ensure the adequate provision of education to the students
with sensitive hearing problems, medium and heavy autism spectrum violations,
and to the ones with long-term chronic illnesses.
Integrated classes are equipped with
appropriate inventory, visual aids and supporting educational resources. The
aforementioned integrated classes are currently functioning in eight public
schools of Georgia, and employees a psychologist, special teacher and a subject
teacher who work both individually and in groups to improve the academic and
functional skills of the students, whilst promoting their healthy integration
into the society.
