The First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Ketevan
Natriashvili held a working meeting with representatives of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and
Development, German Embassy, German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) and the Development Bank (KFW). The sides discussed the
issues regarding the modernization of the vocational education system in
Georgia and talked about the prospects of further enhancing the existing cooperation.
In
the course of introducing
and implementing the dual vocational education programs, various projects of
such nature are extensively supported by the German government. Namely, the
upcoming project organized by the GIZ, plans to increase the scale of
work-based dual education within the following fields: construction, IT,
financial services and transportation. Additionally, apart the technical
assistance, it is also planned to expand the network of educational colleges
cooperating with the potential employers, thus improving the quality of
education and making the labor market requirements more flexible.
Furthermore, within the scope of a financial cooperation with the German
Development Bank (KFW), it is also planned to implement infrastructural
investments at modernization of vocational education centers and improving the
overall learning environment.
