On
October 1, 2019, as part of a comprehensive education reform, along with the
increase in teacher salaries, public school administration, faculty members and
educational resource officers will receive a 20% pay rise.
Increased
remuneration from the new academic year will be provided by staff of
educational resources centers of territorial bodies of the Ministry. The salary
of the Head of the Resource Center will increase by 250 GEL and will be
determined by a total amount of 1 450 GEL. As for the employees: the salary of
the second category specialist will increase by 200 GEL and will amount to 1000
GEL. The salary of the senior specialist in the third category will be
increased by 150 GEL and will be amount to 950 GEL. 150 GEL will be added to
the first category junior specialist and the salary will amount to GEL 850.
Schools
will also receive additional funding to provide a monetary reward to retiree
teachers who will leave the school.
In
order to increase funding, a corresponding amendment was made by issuing a
Government Decree. According to the amendment, the standard voucher
corresponding to the per-student financial standard will be increased, which
will be determined by the multiplier of the per-pupil basic financial standard
and the corresponding ratio.
There
will also be additional funding for public schools to support education for
students with special educational needs.
