Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with a representative of the Ministry of Health held an online meeting with the directors of vocational colleges regarding the plan to launch a post-pandemic activities of vocational education institutions.

The meeting discussed the recommendations developed to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) on the educational premises and various challenges faced by vocational colleges. As the discussion ensued, college representatives received important advice from the Ministry of Health of Georgia.

Attendees agreed that the specificities of vocational education delivery, which involves teaching in a real and simulated work environment, require a special and careful approach. It was therefore decided that the Ministries would work to add more flexible alternatives to the recommendations, thus creating a better suited environment for vocational institutions.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia cooperates with the Ministry of Health on a permanent basis and was involved in the process of preparation of recommendations from the beginning. All colleges are working hard to meet the recommendations, which is a prerequisite to resume their normal operation.
