A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the European Business Association. The memorandum was signed by Deputy Minister, Tamar Kitiashvili and Deputy General Director of the Association, Mariam Kuchuloria.

Tamar Kitiashvili: “Today is an important day, as we signed a memorandum with the European Business Association. This type of cooperation with business associations is really crucial because it helps, on the one hand, to involve the private sector in vocational education and, on the other hand, to popularize this field, and most importantly, to raise the quality of vocational education.”

The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of vocational education. According to the agreement of the parties, the Association will provide consulting services to the private sector in order to facilitate the involvement of private companies in the vocational training / retraining system.

The development of the adult education system started in 2019, owing to the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. To simplify the service delivery process, a special electronic platform http://tvet.emis.ge/ has been created, through which any interested provider (including the private sector) can apply for the right to implement short-term vocational training / retraining programs. Also, students are being registered electronically for vocational training / retraining programs on the following electronic platform vet.emis.ge.
