The Eurostudent International Consortium finished working on the report of the international comparative results of the seventh wave of the Eurostudent survey on August 25, 2021. The report - EUROSTUDENT VII Synopsis of Indicators - is presented on the Eurostudent website https://www.eurostudent.eu.
EUROSTUDENT VII Synopsis of Indicators - represents the main report of the Eurostudent international project, which includes the data of 25 countries participating in the current project (including Georgia). The report presents a deep analytical discussion of the following issues in relation to the participating countries: characteristics of the student population, their socio-economic background, the transition process in higher education institutions, forms of study, students' temporary budget, student employment, student resources and costs, students' living conditions and international mobility.
The Eurostudent International Report answers questions such as, e.g.:
● How correct is the common view that students are mostly young?
● How does the parents' educational background impact students’ studies?
● Are there gender differences between the fields of study?
● What are the student employment rates and what are their motivations for working?
The report gives opportunity to researchers and policy-makers to gain a deeper understanding of the dimensions of higher education, which will help them better achieve the goals of the recent Ministerial Communiqué of the Bologna Process (Rome Communiqué 2020) and to better achieve the principles and research on strengthening the social dimension in the European Higher Education Area, which is: widening participation and increasing inclusiveness in higher education. The report also allows us to see and compare the results of Georgia in the context of European countries.
At the same time the thematic reviews related to the ways of entering higher education and social integration of students and performed within the framework of the research are presented on the same website.
It is especially worth noting that Eurostudent databases, where their management system is embedded, are available to the general public on the Eurostudent website. Interested parties can choose the thematic blocks and indicators, comparable countries, as well as the research waves to discuss the results in the appropriate sections.
At the same time, anonymized micro-data are available for research purposes in the form of scientific-use format documents.
