On July 5, 2024, Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of Georgia, and Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, toured the construction site of a new educational building at Blacks College in Batumi.
Minister Amilakhvari emphasized the importance of this new facility in enhancing access to vocational education in the Adjara region. He noted that the college will feature modern infrastructure and will offer around 30 vocational education programs across various fields, including services, engineering, production and construction, and information and communication technologies.
The visit also included Maya Khajishvili, the Minister of Education, Culture, and Sport of Adjara, and Archil Chikovani, the Mayor of Batumi.
As part of this infrastructure project, a three-story building will be constructed, featuring theoretical and practical classrooms, a FabLab, student spaces, meeting and conference rooms, a library, an archive, a cafeteria, a medical cabinet, and a gym. Additionally, plans include constructing a dormitory to accommodate 50 students.
The project, managed by the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency, has a budget of 179,515 GEL. Construction is currently underway, with completion expected by the end of the year.
