On July 6, 2024, Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of Georgia, visited Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State Teaching University to inspect the educational infrastructure and familiarize himself with the university's material and technical resources.
During his visit, the Minister met with the university's academic staff and students, discussing various important topics, including the university's achievements, initiatives to support higher education institutions, and recent developments in the field.
Minister Amilakhvari expressed his gratitude to the university administration and academic staff for their years of dedicated service. The interactive meeting provided university staff and students with the opportunity to ask questions and receive information directly from the Minister regarding their interests.
The minister was accompanied by: Nodar Papukashvili, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs, and Mamuka Tsotseria, the Mayor of Zugdidi.
It is noteworthy that in addition to higher education programs, Zugdidi University offers 32 vocational education programs across various fields. This ensures that students receive essential practical experience alongside their theoretical education.
Currently, the university is implementing three master's programs, eight undergraduate programs, teacher training, Georgian language courses, 28 vocational education programs, and 18 short-term training/retraining courses.
