For the first time, the education system of Georgia has approved a rule governing e-learning in universities, following amendments to the Law of Georgia on Higher Education. The order was issued by the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of Georgia.
The document outlines a detailed list of fields of study, as classified in the learning fields, and specifies the maximum number of credits for higher education programs in which e-learning will be permitted. Additionally, it includes a list of fields that allow for fully online master's degree programs.
The regulations also identify specific areas where a practical component is necessary, requiring both the lecturer and students to be physically present. As a result of this new rule, universities can now offer students the option to complete individual components of their programs online.
