In the framework of the Vocational Education Reform, Georgian delegation is in Germany. Members of the delegation members, led by Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze with with the Secretary of State Georg Aizenraikh at Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and the Arts. During the working meeting, representatives of the two countries discussed the Vocational Education Support and Development Program.
Within the future cooperation, two main directions were identified, namely, support in terms of professional teachers' qualification improvement and training and the second – facilitation of the implementation of the dual vocational education elements.
The parties believe that the current reform of professional education in Georgia is fully consistent with the European educational system. According to experts, a modernized vocational education system of Georgia is compatible with Germany's international programs and lais a solid foundation for the future cooperation.
Based on Bavarian experience, professional education is the main determining factor behind economic success. It should be noted that during the visit, it is one of the important meeting. Als, there are scheduled visits to leading educational institutions, at the Stuttgart Ministry of Education, at the German federal institutes and at the Ministry of Economy.
Th first Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili, representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Tamar Kitiashvili, Verner Kerni and head of the Teacher Development Department of Bavarian Ministry of Education Klaus Pomer as well as experts of the vocatioanal education also attended the meeting.
The meeting between representavies of the Bavarian and Georgian Ministries of Education was preceded by Georgian delegation’s study tour in the partner colleges – in Ansbach and Regensburg, as well as at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and the Arts and Center for Quality and Reseach, organized in the framework of the United Nations Development Program. The project envisages support of cooperation between the Georgian and Bavarian professional education specialists and teachers, promoting cooperation at various levels of vocational education system. Members of the delegation got acquainted with teacher training and development model in Germany and also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the teacher training process.
