During the visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze and the first Deputy Minister Ketevan Natriashvili visited secondary school in twin town of Telavi - Biberakhi of Baden-Württemberg district and met with school management, teachers and pupils. As a result, two main directions were defined, professional orientation component in general education and the development of entrepreneurship in vocational education.
Above-mentioned secondary school is exceptional in Baden-Württemberg district, as great deal of attention is paid to course of professional orientation, which develops pupils in the technical direction.
It should be noted that since 2014, Georgia has started Vocational Guidance and Career Planning Course in public schools, which at this stage is being implemented started at average levels of around 1000 schools.
During the event, the sides agreed on the next stage of cooperation development, which includes the development of European standards of professional orientation in Georgia.
During the meeting at Vocational College, the importance of entrepreneurship education was highlighted. It is important that since 2014 entrepreneurship courses have been implementing in pilot mode in many schools of Georgia. Also, introduction of entrepreneurship teaching has started in the vocational educational modular programs.
With the help of German experts, this component will be further strengthened and will begin work on the involvement of chambers of commerce in order to implement the Program of Business Stimulation, which will allow vocational students to to test themselves in close to reality, virtual environment. It will raise motivation of students and allow them based on obtained professional knowledge and practical experience, to launch entrepreneurial activities, to reduce expected risks and become successful entrepreneurs.
