Within the framework of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and UNDP, a special course was created which was implemented in piloting mode with the participation of 4 vocational institutions and 6 public schools. The course was an innovative approach and envisaged visits of schoolchildren (during two months, two times a week) in vocational colleges and trying at least two different professions there. The monitoring process showed that students have significantly changed their attitude towards different professions, studied elementary skills of gardening, animal care, cookery, working at trees and in other directions. The students think that the process was funny and interesting.
The conference was dedicated to the new initiative, which aimed to introduce the results of piloting of development courses of vocational skills for stakeholders and pupils.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia works on the issues of more large-scale implementation of the mentioned methodology, where the schools themselves will be able to develop labor skills of the students and provide them with information on professions.
