Within the process of modernization of vocational education, with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and International Organizations, workshop was held Batumi Public College “New Wave” on the topic “Learning by Dual Work-Based Approach”.
The goal of the workshop was to inform directors of public vocational institutions about local and international experience of dual education, taking into consideration the relevant mechanisms and preparatory works at the stage of introduction of work-based learning.
Within the framework of the workshop, practical tasks were considered for implementation of a new model and a discussion was made on the requirements of the region, labor market requirements and implementation priorities of Dual Learning.
For support of implementation of dual vocational education in direction of agriculture, the Georgian Farmers' Association (GFA) is coordinating the implementation of the project “Work-Based Learning” from 2016 in five regions of Georgia - Samegrelo, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti. The project is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, UNDP, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Dual programs are implemented in the following directions: bee-keeping, cattle-breeding, fruit-growing and fruit and vegetable processing.
