By organization of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and Millennium Challenge Account the conference “Renewed Standards for Accreditation and Higher Education Internationalization” was held.
The conference was opened by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava. The purpose of the event was to discuss issues related to changes in the accreditation system in Georgia and to share international experience of the representatives of the US and European Accreditation Agencies.
The conference was attended by international experts and representatives of higher education institutions. The first day of the conference was dedicated to reviewing of the upgraded standards of accreditation. Within the framework of the conference the representatives of higher education institutions were divided into the working groups and they discussed the renewed standards of accreditation in detail.
The Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Estonian Quality Agency for Higher and Vocational Education, the expert of EU Council Mike Udam presented a presentation where he considered the issues of compatibility of new standards of accreditation with ESG 2015. Head of the Legal Issues Department of the Centre of Quality Assessment in Higher Education, EU expert Ieva Vaiciukevičienė presented the issue of change of quality assurance model on the example of Lithuania.
