The Technical Training Center established on the base of the Georgian Technical University will receive first students on new vocational programs by state funding 100%. Students will master the professions relevant to modern labor requirements in direction of labor market in the direction of mechanical engineer technician, high voltage electrician, mechatronic technician and industrial automation technician. All programs are compatible with European standards and successful graduates, along with the diploma of vocational education, will receive German certificates recognized internationally, which will be issued by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In parallel to the theoretical course, students will acquire practical skills in training labs equipped with the latest technologies and will undergo training in leading companies operating on the Georgian market. The teaching process will be oriented to the needs of persons with special needs. The graduates of the Technical Training Center will be successfully employed in the field of energy and communication, mechanical engineering, light and food industry.
The reconstruction of the Technical Training Center was financed from the state budget, whereas equipment of modern German laboratories and improving teachers' qualification was funded by the Millennium Challenge Account and cooperation with BP Georgia.
Information meeting was held on presentation of new professional programs, which was attended by First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili together with invited guests. The meeting focused on the importance of authorized vocational education programs and prospects for employment of graduates.
