Within
the scope of the United Nations Development (UNDP) program and the financial
support of the European Union, the Ministry of Education and Science of
Georgia, together with Kareli Municipality and “Agaris Shaqari” private company,
since September 2016, have jointly implemented various Vocational Education courses
at public schools of small town Agara.
Irina Tserodze - the head of the Vocational
Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of
Georgia, together with the representatives of the European Union and the United
Nations Development Program, got acquainted with the overall process of the
vocational platform.
Moreover, individuals who seek to improve their vocational skills, or acquire a
new one, in conjunction with the high school students of X to XII grade, are
welcome to apply for the following vocational courses: electrician and metal-crafting
artisans. The courses are fully funded by the state, whilst the training takes
place in a workshop fully equipped with the latest technology.
The project implemented at Agara Public School is a part of a wide range of curricula
implemented with the support of the European Union, and aims to draw the
vocational education system closer to the requirements of the Georgian labor
market.
The experience of Agara Public School promotes the entirety of vocational
education and attracts the interest of young people, in conjunction with
developing the relations of public-private partnerships, and the overall
involvement of general education institutions in the development of the
vocational education platform in Georgia.
