Mikheil Chkhenkeli – the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, together with the rectors of numerous Georgian universities, paid an official visit to Baku, where they met with the rectors of Azerbaijan universities. The aim of the meeting was to further deepen the cooperation between the universities of the two countries and develop a valuable joint exchange programs for both students and professors alike.

The Azerbaijanian rectors expressed their desire to create a working group, in which Georgian and Azerbaijanian universities will closely work together on various internationally funded joint projects and research.

With the initiative of Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the first official working meeting of the group will be held in Georgia in the nearest future.

During the meeting Mikheil Chkhenkeli explained that he welcomes the establishment of Kartvelology and Georgian Studies in Azerbaianian Universities.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli - the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia is paying an official visit to Baku and together with the representatives of various countries will participate in the Annual Conference of the International Association of Universities (IAUP).
