Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Giorgi Amilakhvari visited the newly rehabilitated public school in Gori to observe the ongoing infrastructure improvements and assess the situation on-site. Accompanying him were Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Committee on Legal Issues of the Parliament of Georgia, and Giorgi Sosiashvili, majoritarian MP for Gori and Kaspi.
The ceremony for the National Teacher Prize was held at the Zakaria Paliashvili State Opera and Ballet Theater in Tbilisi. During the event, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze and Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Giorgi Amilakhvari addressed the audience, congratulating the finalist teachers on their achievements and emphasizing the importance of the teaching profession.
Students from Georgian public schools have achieved remarkable success at several prestigious international competitions, including the 54th International Physics Olympiad (iPho 2024), the 4th European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (egoi 2024), the 12th International Tournament of Young Naturalists (IYNT 2024), and the 37th International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT 2024).
The Georgian national team had a successful outing at the 65th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO 2024) held in the United Kingdom, securing 1 gold medal, 3 bronze medals, and an honorary diploma.
