Students from Georgian public schools have achieved remarkable success at several prestigious international competitions, including the 54th International Physics Olympiad (iPho 2024), the 4th European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (egoi 2024), the 12th International Tournament of Young Naturalists (IYNT 2024), and the 37th International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT 2024).
Notably, at the 12th International Tournament of Young Naturalists held in Batumi, the Georgian national team claimed first place and won gold medals. The team comprised students from Ilia Vekua Physics and Mathematics Tbilisi Public School #42, Alexander Gvaramia and Lile Chelidze, as well as Tamar Jincharadze, Mariam Bekauri, and Konstantine Chubinidze from Vladimir Komarov Public School of Physics and Mathematics #199. A total of 19 teams from 10 countries participated in this international tournament.
In the 54th International Olympiad in Physics in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Georgian team also achieved significant success, with Luka Tvalavadze and Tornike Tsadzikidze from Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics School #199 winning silver medals, while David Kldiashvili and Tsotne Giorgadze from the same school earned bronze medals. A total of 43 countries participated in this Olympiad.
At the 37th International Young Physicists' Tournament in Budapest, Hungary, the Georgian national team won bronze medals. The team included Mariam Lominashvili and Luka Chakhnashvili from Vekua Physics and Mathematics Tbilisi Public School #42, as well as Ketevan Gogishvili, Mariam Tskitishvili, and Nikoloz Gotsadze from Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics School #199. This tournament involved 350 participants from 38 countries.
Additionally, at the 4th European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics held in Eindhoven, Netherlands, Nino Chkhaidze, a 9th-grade student at Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics Public School, won a silver medal. The Olympiad had 195 participants from 57 countries.
Georgian teams participated in these international educational Olympiads and tournaments with the initiative and financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth.
