The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lie Gigauri, the Deputy Tbilisi Mayor Irakli Lekvinidze and the Head of National Agency of Kindergartens Temur Tordinava falimiarized today with implementation ot the School Readiness Program at Tbilisi Kindergarten №63.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia developed the School Readiness Program in partnership with The United Nations Children's Fund. The program, which was activated days ago in every kindergarten of Tbilisi, includes preparation of 5-6 year old children for school based on method of teaching through playing.
The School Readiness Program, which consists of 3 hours training per day during the 30 weeks, is carried out for the elderly children of kindergartens. For this program, classrooms were organized differently, groups were divided into spaces and centers of various activities were set up. Each of them was equipped with the relevant methodological materials.
The School Readiness Program facilitates to child’s many-sided and comprehensive development, as well as to development of motor, social, emotional, cognitive skills, communication and speech. The program provides child’s proper training for the expectations and challenges existed towards first grade pupil. It helps each of them to maximally develop their potential and to acquire the necessary skills for future life and for formation as successful citizen.
Those children, who are not attending kindergarten, will go through the School Program in specialy opened groups. Registration has already begun on the web page of Kindergartens Management: http://kids.org.ge/ and will last till November 2.
