If I am applying for the Common National Entrance Exams, until when can I change the list of programs?
The potential student can change the program, delete the selected program or add a new program before the middle of August. This process will stop as soon as the deadline for appellation applications will expire.
Where can I take an exam card?
The applicants can print the electronic exam card from their personal account (page where the candidate selects exams, programs, checks the results). It is important that all information provided on the card was printed clearly (avoiding spots or deleted words) without any defects.
How to register if my ID document has expired?
For registration purposes, all you need is an ID number which remains the same even if you take a new ID document.
Are the exams electronic this year?
Change of the format means electronic provision of the test (and not the answer paper). After the new format is fully up and running, the participant will be able to see the task on the screen, as for the answers, s/he will have to mark or write the answer on the printed paper.
I graduated the school few years ago, what additional documents do I need?
If you have obtained the graduation certificate for a complete general education before 2011, you must present the copy of a public school diploma to National Assessment and Examination Center before June 20, 2017.
I have graduated a Russian school, can I choose Russian as a foreign language to pass the exam?
Any high school graduate who studied Russian as the main language at school has right to choose Russian as a foreign language.
Can an applicant pass National Entrance Examinations in any other languages rather than Georgian?
• The potential student has right to pass examinations in history, mathematics, geography, chemistry, physics, biology, fine arts, civic education in the Russian language.
• The examination in general skills can be passed in Russian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, English, Ossetian and Abkhazian languages.
• The potential student who has received general education in the Autonomic Republic of Abkhazia, has right to pass exam in the Abkhazian language instead of a Georgian language and literature. In this case, the potential student has to submit a written application to NAEC before May 1, 2016.
How many examinations are mandatory to pass for art and sport education programs in order to obtain the right to continue the studies?
The persons wishing to continue studying in art and sport educational programs, before passing the National Entrance Examinations, shall participate in the relevant competition (art or sport tour, for which they had applied) and shall pass the following: a) three mandatory exams (Georgian language and literature, general skills, foreign language) and if the institute (educational program) has indicated the fourth examination, the potential student will have to pass it too. If the institution has indicated only three mandatory examinations, but the applicant wants to obtain grant with National Entrance Examinations, s/he can pass examination in any subject (at his/her own discretion) and participate in the relevant competition.
How many examinations are mandatory to obtain the right for studying in Orthodox theological higher education institutions?
The persons wishing studies in theological higher educational institutions have to pass Georgian language and literature after registering for the exams. As for the rest of the exams, the potential student will pass them directly at the theological institution.
State educational grant is not issued:
• To persons who enroll in non-accredited programs.
• To persons who have received the state grant once for the Bachelor’s programs, medical/dental educational programs
If I am passing five subjects, do I have any privileges and what happens if I fail to pass one of the subjects I have selected?
If you are passing five or more subjects, you will enroll and participate in the grant competition with the subject in which you received the highest score (if all five exams are pass for the programs you have selected). Besides, if you make more choices in the list of programs, you will be able to select the faculties and will have more opportunities to change them. However, if you fail to pass any of the subjects, do not overcome the minimum margin or did not attend the exam, you will lose the change to obtain grant.
How many barriers are there in the students grant competition?
There are no barriers, maximum number of scores is 43. There is a rating list made by which grants are given until the funds are exhausted. Last year, up to 150 students improved the grant.
Where will the examination centers be opened?
In 2017, the examination centers will open in Batumi, Poti, Zugdidi, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Tbilisi, Rustavi, Telavi and Khulo.
What does a prospective student have to bring to the exam?
The exam card and ID (residence certificate)/passport or an application/statement/questionnaire in a printed form, duly sealed with a seal of Social Service Agency territorial unit and signed by an authorized person, where the person’s colour photo, name, surname and ID number is indicated.
How is the examination process arranged?
The potential student has to appear at the time and place indicated on the exam card. After checking in for the examination, the applicant will occupy his/her place in the relevant sector. S/he will receive an answer paper and also a paper for making notes. Besides, the applicant gets supplementary materials (e.g. map, Mendeleev table). To ensure anonymity, individual bar code will be attached to the answer paper. Special attention shall be paid to the paper and checked for any damage; the paper cannot be folded or pressed; it is not allowed to make any writings on the paper (unless related to the test). Only the answers paper is corrected! All examination sectors have CCTV cameras; the whole examination process is recorded and the video archive is created; After the examination time expires or the applicant completes the task earlier, the observer will check the answer paper and the bar code (for damage), which is confirmed by the applicant with a signature in the relevant register. After that, the applicant will hand the work over to the observer and the examination process is deemed completed. The papers are sealed and sent to NAEC.
