The
President of the Republic of Belarus – Alexander Lukashenko, during his
official visit to Georgia, has signed a mutual memorandum of cooperation in the
field of higher education. The aforementioned memorandum implies an enhanced
educational cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Belarus. The
document was signed by the first Deputy Minister – Ketevan Natriashvili and the
minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus – Igor Korpenko.
The cooperation between the two countries implies a deeper collaboration in the
fields of Science and Education.
According
to the joint program, the sides will promote the development of cooperation
between higher education institutions of both countries and the implementation
of joint educational and scientific platforms. Additionally, the sides will
guarantee the provision of sufficient exchange of academic staff and students,
including their respective cooperation in scientific conferences, congresses,
symposia or any other educational events.
The memorandum additionally foresees the recognition of the educational
attestations from both countries, with the compliance of each state’s corresponding
internal legislation and regulation.
