The
regional hub of the European Academy will be opened at Ivane Javakhishvili
Tbilisi State University. The quadrilateral meeting was held amongst the
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia -Mikheil Chkhenkeli, with the
President of the European Academy of Sciences - Zyrd Klotnik, the Vice
President of the European Studies Council -Eva Kondorosi and a Professor of
Oxford University - Alex Vehratsky.
The
goal of scientific hub is to support the development of science and research in
the Caucasus region. As mentioned during the meeting, a cooperation between
Tbilisi State University and the European Academy will be a sign for academic
and scientific excellence, in conjunction with expanding the role of European
Academic community to include bilateral cooperation with Georgia.
The established hub at Tbilisi State University will also cover Armenia and
Azerbaijan, which is truly an unprecedented event in the region of Caucasus.
