The "Future Camp" was opened in Anaklia, where the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is organizing the Children and Youth National Center, where 3 000 pupils will rest. During the summer, 6 youth camps will be:
About 10 000 students will spend their holidays in youth camps, all funded by the state.
Participants of summer camps located in Bakuriani and Manavi are 11-18-year-old students selected from a relatively small-scale schools. Students aged between 12-16 will go to a camp located in Kutaisi. Only the most successful student aged between 14-18 years from all public schools of Georgia, will have the ability to visit the Future Camp in Anaklia. Shaori Future camp will host the university students, whereas approximately 100 international students will visit international camps from the middle East and the European Union.
The project is implemented for the sixth year and aims to create an educational, sports and cultural environment for children, in conjunction with promoting healthy lifestyle and revealing various talents amongst the participating students. Additionally, through the implementation of practical laboratory projects, the camp will aid in developing creative thinking and research skills, thus encouraging young people to get involved in scientific experiments. Moreover, with the integration of international students, young people will get acquainted with various cultures, encouraging networking and creating and open-minded environment. Besides the above-mentioned benefits, there are 300 young people employed during the summer.
Various governmental structures are involved in the project. Nevertheless, the direct implementor of the entire operation is the Children and Youth National Center of the Ministry of Education and Science.
