The transformation plan of the Education System presented in the beginning of September by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili is in the active phase. The preliminary works are in fact completed and are monitored by the stakeholders. As it is known, education reform includes all areas of education system.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport - Irina Abuladze met with the teachers of public schools of Tbilisi and introduced the vision of general education, future plans and new initiatives envisaged by these said reforms, which will further develop schools and raise motivation for students and teachers alike.

Discussions focused on various aspects of the revised National Curriculum, the new school model, the salary increase policy and etc. According to the deputy minister, many innovations are introduced in order to increase the quality of education, the school is becoming more interesting and modern, it is a place to develop critical and free thinking amongst the youth.

“ First of all, this is the introduction of a brand-new curriculum, renewed school books and other educational resources, a new model of teaching that is complex and comprises many directions - new approaches in the lesson giving, more emphasis on the use of modern technologies and innovations at schools. “ stated the deputy nminister. One of the important issues that Irina Abuladze talked about is the increase in salary for the teachers, school directors and faculty members.

In 2019-2021, salaries will be increased for school directors, administrative personnel, and teachers. By 2022 the teacher's average salary will reach 1800 GEL and salary for higher level teachers will amount to 2000 GEL and more. Funds for the 2019 state budget are already envisaged.
