As part of the complex education reform, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports is launching a certification process for the individuals who wish to become public-school principals in order to effectively manage schools and provide a student-centered learning environment. As a result of the certification, in the conditions of healthy competition, it is planned to attract highly qualified and worthy academic personnel.

In the process of selecting the candidates for the position of principals, the task of the Ministry is to organize the competition transparently, qualitatively and impartially, as well as to create favorable and equal conditions for the contestants.

Certification consists of two parts, testing and interview.

Electronic registration for those wishing to certify will start on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia www.directors.mes.gov.ge on February 3 and will end on February 17.

A person with a higher education who has at least 3 years of work experience can participate in the competition, of which at least one year of teaching experience in the field of education.

The testing program includes several areas - the legal framework, the organization of the learning process, monitoring and evaluation, school human resource management, effective communication and motivation methods, working with parents and accountability, logical reasoning and information analysis, and more.

Testing will be conducted electronically. The competence and skills of the contestant will be considered successful if 60% of the maximum test scores are accumulated. The assessment will be carried out as soon as the test is completed. In case of exceeding the minimum competency-threshold set for testing, the contestant can move on to the interview stage.
