Owing to the decision of the Georgian Government, funding of public schools will increase by 0.9 million lari per month in 2018. Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia presented the decision to the members of Georgian Government today.
According to the government's decree, the standard voucher corresponding to the financial norm for a student will be increased, which is related to an hourly basis for the primary level of Georgian public schools / sectors which will be essentially alterted from the beginning of the 2018-2019 academic year. Specifically, the weekly hourly load of 3.5 hours, over the course of the last academic year is exceeding the hourly load. Consequently, there is an increase in the standard voucher coefficients corresponding to the financial norm for one student.
The increase is envisaged in the yearly budget of the current year and for this purpose amendments will be made to the Resolution №476 of the Government of Georgia on September 14, 2015 on "Determining the amount of financial support normative for a student and the corresponding standard voucher".
